  1. The Purple People Meader

    So named by Brother Carlos, the Purple People Meader is going to be a Hibiscus Cranberry Melomel. Probably.
    I'm going to wait until secondary to see how much flavor and aroma the Hibiscus flowers imparted. From there I will determine what if anything needs to be added.

    Recipe 3 gal:
    ~8 lbs of honey
    2 oz hibiscus
    yeast nutrient
    2 pkg Red Star Champagne Yeast

  2. Mead Day

    Today was botteling day at our place. We bottled 5 batches of mead, all different.
    Cinnamon/Ginger holiday spice mead(Tripple Dog Dare Mead)
    Persomel(persimmon mead)
    Two varieties of hopped mead
    And
    A burnt honey mead

    Most of these are over a year old. My mead named Randy's Plain Ass Mead is still a little cloudy and not ready for bottling.

    I can't wait to start drinking these.
