  2. Keggerator of 6 years has gone to the big brew pub in the sky.

    I got the fridge on CL for $20. An awesome little fridge. I was able to shoehorn 4 kegs in there and it took me several years to get all the gear to actually put 4 taps on the door. The drip tray was less than the fridge (not including the mounting hardware) and about a month ago it stopped cycling altogether. No compressor motor or anything. Just the repetitive click of a micro switch trying to get things going. I keep an eye on CL for a replacement and my suck it up and switch to a chest freezer ...

  3. Hello to All !!!

    Hello all, my name is Steve and I live in Aurora. I've been brewing for 2-3 years now. I was a extract brewer for the first while and now have a mash tun and do all grain. I do 5 gallon batches and have a keg-orator that I converted. I do mostly all my shopping at the brew hut.

    I have my first all grain brown in the keg and getting ready to make a beer hopefully next weekend. Type tbd. I have tried almost all types and trying to think of something right now. Might do a stout. ...

  4. The Purple People Meader

    So named by Brother Carlos, the Purple People Meader is going to be a Hibiscus Cranberry Melomel. Probably.
    I'm going to wait until secondary to see how much flavor and aroma the Hibiscus flowers imparted. From there I will determine what if anything needs to be added.

    Recipe 3 gal:
    ~8 lbs of honey
    2 oz hibiscus
    yeast nutrient
    2 pkg Red Star Champagne Yeast

  5. FNG...Sorta

    Greeting!
    I joined the Monks approx 6 months ago via Facebook. Been posting there for a while and figured it was time I checked out the site and created my intro blog. Have not made it to a meeting yet (will hang head in shame for 8 seconds) but have had the opportunity to meet and brew with a couple of members.
